2017 has been a fantastic year for online letting agents including us here at LetBritain. And as the year draws to a close, we thought we’d take this opportunity to celebrate all we’ve accomplished this year, and take a look at some of the exciting developments we’ve got lined up for 2018.
First and foremost, we want to wish all the landlords and tenants who’ve embarked on their property journey with us a very happy Christmas and a fantastic New Year. We’ve got some exciting plans for 2018 and we hope you’ll stay with us every step of the way.
So without further ado, let’s have a look back at some of the year’s highlights for LetBritain and other independent estate agents all around the country.
It’s not a particularly controversial statement to say that the housing industry is going through some troubling times. House prices and rents continue to rise at increasing rates, and generation rent doesn’t look set to go anywhere.
But while the troubles of the housing crisis look likely to continue for some time, at this time of optimism and joy, it’s worth reflecting on the positive changes that the year has bought as well. There has been some genuinely meaningful and encouraging political acknowledgement of the problems in housing, with positive reforms coming out of both the spring and autumn Budgets this year.
In the latter case, the headline axing of Stamp Duty for first time buyers will bring relief to many people across the country saving up to buy their own home. We first bought up this issue back in April, and are delighted that the government has seen fit to make immediate changes before the year is through.
On a personal note, we’re also delighted that more and more of Britain’s renters are turning to online letting agents, and that the old outdated models of high street lettings agencies are finally being rightfully consigned to the dustbin of history – giving landlords and renters more time, more control, and better value for money.
In 2018 LetBritain is going to get bigger and better. We’ll feature more properties from more landlords and work with more tenants, giving tenants a better and more diverse choice of where to live, and landlords a better selection of potential tenants. And with plans to introduce new site functionality, team up with exciting partners, industry experts and talented professionals through 2018 – there’s a lot to look forward to.
For a limited time only, we’re also extending our free trial so landlords can access our services and start advertising their property direct on our website, as well as with some of the biggest property portals in the UK.
We expect you’ll be hearing plenty more from us through 2018.
